Bread Baking

Kona Historical Society’s Portuguese Stone Oven is a reproduction of a typical oven used by the Portuguese immigrants who came to Kona in the 1880s. Kahuku Orientation Talk
Highway 11 in Kaʻū near mile marker 70.5, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays, and 10:30 a.m. Saturdays-Sundays. Share in the wonders of this 116,000-acre unit of Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Join rangers and naturalists for 20- to 30-minute talks that will include a general overview of the park and volcanic activity update.
