            Chelsey Faavesi is resort manager for Castle Resorts & Hotels’ Kanaloa at Kona property. She will oversee the company’s rental program and front desk operations. Faavesi is from Hawai‘i Island and brings more than eight years of leadership and management experience to her new role. She will work to improve all facets of Kanaloa at Kona’s rental program to ensure customer satisfaction.
Maja Grajski joins Trust for Public Land as assistant director of philanthropy. In this new role, she will be committed to expanding engagement with Trust for Public Land’s donors and stakeholders statewide. Grajski has dedicated her life’s work to equitable access, education and philanthropy and was previously executive director for Donkey Mill Art Center in Hōlualoa.
Ulumauahi Keali‘ikanaka‘oleohaililani joins Hawai‘i Land Trust as Kūkūau steward and educator. In this role, he will serve as restoration specialist, strategic planner and outreach coordinator for the 1,600 acres of koa and ‘ōhi‘a trees at Kūkūau Forest, located just above Hilo. His training in hula ceremony, protocol and oli has brought him intimate knowledge of the environment he will steward. The forest was donated to Hawai‘i Land Trust in 2019.

I like to help people, and I know many of you do, too. When we care, it’s natural to want to offer a positive way for them to look at what they are going through.
It’s Best To Listen
   That said, I want to share one of the most important things I’ve learned when trying to help others feel better. Before you start sharing your positive spin on their situation, let them finish. Fully.
 If you don’t, even if you mean well, it will send the message that you are not actually interested in how they are feeling. It tells them you are only interested in giving them your take.
The best practice is to listen. Let them speak. Let them finish. Only then, give your positive perspective. Sometimes, listening is the most positive part.
