oft-lit lanterns hanging from tree branches have a nice nos- talgia to them. They remind you of good times shared with family and friends. This week’s project is a mini version of a
lantern that you can add to an Easter tree, or branches from a floral arrangement in your home or office. It uses a battery-operated tea light candle for the base.
They are simple to make, so you can create designs for different occasions. A large tree branch lit with a bunch of lanterns would make a beautiful setting for a special party. Guests could even take a lantern home as a favor.
You can find this project sheet and many more at benfranklinha- waii.com.
Stamp and/or draw onto the vellum.
1
Color the vellum on the 2 back of your stamping or drawing.
3
Wrap double-stick tape around the base of the battery-operated tea light candle.
4
Add a strip of tape to one edge of the vellum so that you can over- lap and create a tube.
Carefully wrap the
decorated vellum 5 around the base of
the tea light candle.
Make sure the colored
side is on the inside.
Overlap the ends and
tape together.
6
Punch a hole on opposite sides of the vellum, about 3/8 of an inch down from the
top edge.
Thread the ends of the rib- bon from the inside going out from each hole. Adjust the length of the hanger. Knot the ends on each side. Trim the excess ribbon.
